Join the Canton of Hawke’s Reache for our annual event, “Potted” Arms and Fancy “Faire”: Summer in Bloom!

The Canton of Hawkes Reache welcomes one and all to a Summer Faire complete with a Tournament to select the new Baronial Fencing Champion. There will be a Hearty Dayboard served throughout the day. This years theme is an Exploration of Native Plants and Flowers.
The menu includes Floral Centric delectables, and we ask the Fencers to Incorporate some form of Plant in their Hat… eschew those feathers for flowers!!
No feast will be served but fear not, for no one leaves An Dubhaigeainn hungry!
The Baronial Fencing Tournament helps Their Excellencies Choose the next Baronial Rapier Champion – give Them your best Demonstration of Prowess, Courtesy, and Pageantry. The format will be set by Current Baronial Fencing Champion, Demetrio Antelini da Lucca.
Demetrio, the current Baronial Fencing Champion, cut his teeth on the streets of his home city of Lucca, and to honor that legacy we’re taking the fight to the streets of Hawkes Reach. Fighters will take to the alleys and junctions of the canton, all weapons drawn from the hip on the call of Lay On. Off-hand parry devices are welcome at the fighter’s discretion, canes, torches, frying pans, whatever a street brawler might have on hand, though they are not treated as weapons. A quick wit and a sharp tongue are equally encouraged.
Stage 1 is a team affair. Fighters will be grouped into teams of varying sizes and fight a series of bouts through the alleys, earning points not just for individual performance but for their ability to work together, protect their companions, and outlast their rivals. Those points will seed a Final 4 bracket, with the top seed facing the fourth and the second facing the third in the semifinals.
Stage 2 is where the streets give way to the dueling ground. The two semifinal winners will meet in a Championship Finals fought as a best of 7, designed to test the full depth of a fencer’s individual ability across multiple weapons forms. The Coronet selects the opening form, and from there the loser of each bout chooses what comes next, rewarding not just skill but versatility and adaptability. The fighter who prevails will be named the new Baronial Fencing Champion.
All may enter; but only a Duck may Serve as Champion.
Each entrant to the Baronial Tournament must have their Introduction to the List written out for a Herald to read. Entrants are strongly encouraged to bring their own over-the-top Herald (like in “A Knight’s Tale”). There will be a Prize and Recognition for best Heraldic Boast Performance!

Once again we will conduct our endearingly lively Hat Auction, wherein the Populace bids on a Fencer as represented by their Hat. Auction proceeds benefit the Canton of Hawkes Reache. The victorious Hat Tournament Rapier Fighter, and their Generous Bidder, each will receive Wonderful Prizes!
